Team RF Tamiya Driver Win FinTrack Round 8 (7)

The eight round of the Finnish FinTrack Electric On-Road Championship was planned to be held at the small track in Laukaa on Saturday August 18th. In reality this was the seventh round of the championship though as the previous round had to be postponed due to heavy rain.

The race at Laukaa was run mostly in the dry, but towards the end of the day a few rain showers made the conditions very tricky. The track at Laukaa is quite small, but with smooth asphalt and fairly good grip. Even though it’s quite small and tricky it’s quite an ok track to drive even with the extreme power of the modified class.

In the modified class Tamiya TRF415  and Racing Factory team driver Teemu Rytsy took TQ ahead of drivers like Juho Levänen and Sakke Ahoniemi; a great achievement by the young RF driver. In the first final he held his place in a very impressive manner after extreme pressure from the other drivers.  The second final was a bit rough with a few too many mistakes but in the last final in the rain Teemu managed a second place after some drama. This was enough for Teemu to take the overall win ahead of Juho in second and Sebastian Trzaska in third.

This was the first win for Tamiya in Finland in the extremely competitive Finnish modified TC class and an amazing result by Teemu – Huge Congratulations Teemu!

Modified Results:
1. Teemu Rytsy – Tamiya TRF415MSX MR
2. Juho Levänen
3. Sebastian Trzaska
4. Kalle Lehto
5. Sakke Ahoniemi

The Pro Stock class has so far been dominated by the  Tamiya TRF415 and this continued at the Laukaa round. After qualifying, 4 out of 7 drivers in the A-final run the TRF chassis. Unfortunately the win slipped away this time but Henry Salmén finished second overall which was enough to secure the championship!

Pro Stock Results:
1. Risto Koskinen
2. Henry Salmén – Tamiya TRF415MSX MR
3. Santeri Jokinen
4. Jyri Konoila – Tamiya TRF415MSX MR
5. Janne Valtanen
6. Björn Södergård – Tamiya TRF415MSX MR
7. Juha Nyrhinen – Tamiya TRF415MSX MR
